We are seeking a talented and experienced Product Designer with a strong background in both hardware design and UI/UX design. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SolidWorks and Figma and will be responsible for designing hardware products and the user interfaces that they feedback to alongside an agile team of mechatronic, electronic and software engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, prototype, and document (2D and 3D) mechanical components and user experience systems related to innovative user-centred tech products.
Utilise various simple and advanced prototyping and manufacturing techniques such as sketching, model making, 3D printing, CNC machining, injection moulding etc.
Create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces using Figma.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software, in particular facilitating hands-on assembly, debugging, testing, etc. of prototypes
Generating and maintaining production documentation (BOM, drawings, manufacturing files).
Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions.
Present design concepts and prototypes in various 2D and 3D forms to stakeholders for feedback and approval.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in product design.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in product design, with a focus on both hardware and user interface design.
CAD literacy (2D drawing, 3D solid modelling), with advanced understanding of Solidworks CAD software.
Proficiency in Figma and Adobe suite.
Strong portfolio showcasing your design skills and experience.
Demonstrated experience of appropriate mass production manufacturing techniques and materials selection
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
